     ประทัดจีน หรืออีกชื่อหนึ่งว่าประทัดเล็ก เป็นไม้ดอกไม้พุ่มที่มีลักษณะแปลกกว่าไม้ทั่วไปนับตั้งแต่ใบเป็นเส้นยาว มีแผ่นใบเกาะตามข้อลำต้นเท่านั้น ดอกเป็นหลอดเล็กๆ ยาวกระจายตามกิ่งดูแล้วคล้ายประทัดที่นิยมจุดกันตามศาลเจ้าต่างๆ ในหน้าเทศกาลกินเจตามบ้านช่องเรือนชาน เพื่อเอาสิริมงคล ดังนั้น การปลูกต้นดอกประทัดจีนจึงถือว่าเป็นการปลูกไม้มงคลเช่นกัน

ประทัดจีนมีหลายสี สีแดงเป็นสีที่เหมือนช่อประทัดจีนมากที่สุด นอกจากนี้ก็มีสีส้ม สีชมพู หาดูได้ครบทั้งสามสีที่สวนหลวง ร.9 ซึ่งปลูกไว้ตามริมหนองน้ำ ตามโขดหิน

อันที่จริงแล้วประทัดจีนเป็นไม้ดอกประเภทไม้พุ่มเล็ก ดอกออกชูช่อเป็นก้านอ่อนโยน แต่ก็สามารถปลูกริมระเบียงหรือในที่สูงแล้วกดยอดกิ่งก้านให้ย้อยตกลงด้านล่างได้ ยามเมื่อออกดอกสีแดงจะคล้ายประทัดจีนตามศาลเจ้ามากที่สุด นอกจากนี้นิยมปลูกเป็นแถวเป็นแนวในกระถางยาวตามระเบียง หรือปลูกเป็นพุ่มกลมตามสนามก็ได้ ปรือปลูกร่วมกับสวนหิน ริมน้ำตกจำลองก็เข้ากันได้ดีเพราะใบแปลกดอกสวยนี่เอง จึงเข้ากันได้ดีกับโขดหิน

ความถี่ในการปลูกเป็นพุ่มหรือเป็นแปลงขนาดแบบถี่มากประมาณ 10 ต้นต่อตารางเมตร แบบพุ่มห่างสักหน่อยหรือพุ่มโปร่งประมาณ 6 ต้นต่อตารางเมตร ปลูกเป็นแถวเรียงสลับห่าง 30 เซนติเมตรต่อต้น ในเย็นเข้าไว้ เพราะประทัดจีนเป็นไม้โตไว ไม่ช้าก็จะขยายตัวเต็มแปลงเอง เลี้ยงดูก็ง่าย ชอบแดดจัดๆ น้ำปานกลางดินได้ทุกชนิด โรคเพลี้ยโรคแมลงไม่มี ปลูกริมทะเลก็ย่อมได้ ทนลมทนแดด ทนแล้งได้ดีอีกด้วย

ต้นประทัดจีนเป็นไม้พุ่มเตี้ย หรือไม้พุ่มขนาดเล็ก สูง 1-2 เมตรเท่านั้น ทรงพุ่มกว้างเพียงรัศมีครึ่งเมตรถึงหนึ่งเมตร เป็นไม้พุ่มโปร่ง ผิวสัมผัสละเอียด ลำต้นสีน้ำตาลเทา มีชื่อสามัญว่า Bilter Wood หรือ Fountain Plant ชื่อวิทยาศาสตร์ว่า Russellaequisetiformis Schltr. อยู่ในวงศ์ Scrophulariaceae

ดอกสีแดง สีส้ม สีชมพู เป็นหลอดยาวเล็กๆ ปลายกลีบดอกสั้นๆ สี่กลีบ ไม่มีกลิ่นหอม ออกดอกตลอดปี แต่ดอกจะดกและหนาแน่นในเดือนพฤศจิกายนถึงเดือนมีนาคมในปีถัดมา สำหรับสายตาของฝรั่งมองดอกไม้ชนิดนี้ว่าสวยงามราวกับน้ำพุ จึงเรียกว่าต้นน้ำพุ ( Fountain Plant) นั่นเอง

ดอกประทัดจีนมีเสน่ห์ตั้งแต่เมื่อเริ่มเป็นช่อดอกช่อยาว ดอกก็จะออกเป็นตุ่มตามก้าน เมื่อดอกค่อยๆ ยาวขึ้นมาเป็นสีแดงสีชมพู เมื่อค่อยๆ โตเกิดสีสันตามก้านดอกแต่นั้นมา ฉะนั้นช่อดอกจึงให้ความงามกับลำต้นยาวนานหลายสัปดาห์ เมื่อดอกคลี่กลีบบาน กลีบเล็กๆ 5 แฉกจะอยู่ได้ทนนานถึง 5-6 วัน จึงร่วง

   Jennifer Lynn Muñiz (née Lopez; born July 24, 1969) is an American actress, dancer, entrepreneur, fashion designer, film producer, philanthropist, recording artist and spokeswoman. Lopez's public image and personal relationships have attracted worldwide media attention. Her marriage to actor Ojani Noa was proceeded by a series of lawsuits by Lopez, resulting from Noa's attempts to sell private details of Lopez and their relationship. Following her marriage to Noa, Lopez datedSean Combs, who accompanied Lopez to the 42nd Grammy Awards in 2000, where she wore her infamous Green Versace dress. Lopez became romantically involved with actor Ben Affleck, while still married to her second husband Cris Judd, during shooting of Gigli (2003), a film that is considered one of the worst of all time. Lopez wed long-time friend Marc Anthony in 2004. Lopez gave birth to twins, Emme and Maximilian, in February 2008. People paid a reported $6 million for the first photographs of the twins, which became the most expensive celebrity picture at the time.
